Its been said of Oklahoma weather (and probably every other state as
well), "that if you don't like the weather, wait a few minutes and it'll
change". So in order to help keep you abreast of the local weather and
perhaps aid in planning your visit, we have provided the following
sites:
For the boating enthusiast that wants the most current
information on river and weather conditions in our area, here is a link to the
Tulsa District Corps of Engineers. All you need to do is follow the link and
once it loads you can access real time data (updated hourly) that is transmitted
to the corps from each of the sites indicated on the map. Not only does
this site provide lake and river levels, but also a host of weather related
information.
We have a
Doppler Radar (courtesy of Channels 40/29 Fort Smith/Fayetteville, AR) sight located just a few miles north of Fort Smith, Arkansas and it is updated every three minutes. When the storms hit, this is where we turn.
Here is a link to the National
Weather Service out of Tulsa. This page give great detail
pertaining to our local weather to include live radar and the latest satellite
imagery. Of course you'll be able to find forecast information there as
well. I have been unable to find Wx Radio on the internet for some
time. If any one knows where to find it please let me
know.
Here is a site which provides regional
wind forecasts furnished by
www.intellicast.com. Just what every sailor needs to help in planning his next outing.
For those mariners who prefer to check the forecast surface conditions we have provided this link to the National Weather Service's forecast pages.
12 Hour Forecast 24 Hour Forecast 48 Hour Forecast
And finally, here is a link to GOES Satellite Imagery for the continental United States.
